Eleanor Roosevelt was the wife of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the first lady of America. In the first universe, she died at 78 years of age. In the current universe, however, she was killed, and died earlier. Professor Farnsworth had invented a forward time machine that accidentally sent him along with Fry and Bender thousands of years into the future. The forward time travel allowed them to visit various periods of time. The Professor stopped the machine in the 20th century of the third universe to shoot Hitler, but mistook him for Roosevelt, thus killing her. (See an explanation of this with a picture.)
